Interferometric Vision

Both the the interconnection and the chips are aligned with respect to the image of a reference mirror.
When aligned in white light the chip is maintained in the same fringe as the network.

When fringes are found in white light (in this case around 8 fringes are visible for each coincidence of specular interfaces), the piece to be positioned is tilted until one fringe covers an whole specular interface.

Few microns near the coincidence of the reference mirror image with the piece to be positioned beautiful Newtons colors are appearing along the interference area.
